Kevin, Randy What did you use for the mud on the Fordson wheels? Looks very realistic.

    randy,
i used a product from vallejo (i think) called mud. i have the one you see on the wheels, and another one that is so black as to be unrealistic.
  • Thanks, Kevin. Alex, the wood on your hand trucks is just fantastic. I looks so realistic. Randy
  • Diggin the hand trucks.....as stated...you got the wood so nice...
  • Those hand trucks turned out very nice.
  • The worn metal finish is very good.
  • A thought came to me for possible 3D details. How about fan belts with the wrapper on to hang up as details in a garage or shop?
  • I just saw an advertisement over on Instagram for a new kit being released from a guy many of you may know….anyway the ad states “ 7 detailed castings”…..I guess this guy has never seen a Brett kit. ;-))

exactly. i challenged him a couple weeks ago by saying, you should try a sierra west kit. he liked it and didn't comment.

  • I worked on the air tank some more. I also painted the oil tank as well.

The peel effects on the air tank look great Alex, very nicely done.
That little bit of metal 'shine' on the barrel frame throughout, but especially on the bottom right of the last pic is perfect.
  • Wonderful weathering on these Alex!
  • Both are very nice. I like the peeling paint on the air tank also.
  • Hey Alex! Loving the paint jobs on these little gems.
  • Nice finishes and weathering on both details.
  • Well this is a fine addition to the line.

  • Great job with the gas pump. Did you use an insulated wire for the hose?
  • I'd say!...nifty design and immediately dates the scene.
  • Awesome job! Agreed, best way to date a scene...

The SWSM Gas Pump collection is coming soon in HO Scale!
  • Jim, it is lead core fishing line with a braided sheath. I was torn between red or white.
  • Never thought of using braided fishing line. Great idea.
  • Great job on the gas pump.
  • Very nice job on the coloring and weathering of the pump Bryan. Randy
  • I was over to Pete Smith MMR house last night. A few weeks ago Pete, myself, and Jeff Boock each ordered ordered two of the Fordson tractors in S scale. Pete was the first one to finish one of these great 3D printed tractors. I think he did a very nice job of showing a well used but maintained tractor. IMG_1683resized
