  • Tractor under repair is mostly done. I may need to rework the stump its sitting on and may add a couple more grime streaks. It fits nicely in the open bay.

  • What a great upgrade of that already beautiful kit !!
  • The tractor looks awesome in the open doorway, love the subtle rust streaks on the large rear wheels.
  • Thanks guys. Brett, streaks done with enamels. Great technique that I have not been able to reproduce with acrylics.

    Ed, keep hunting.
  • Nice looking scene, love those solid rear wheel rims.
  • Thanks Ken.

OK Kevin, I got the watering can out.

  • Bryan.
Just outstanding everywhere nice work. ..........Carl........
  • The dead leaves add so much to this already incredible diorama.
  • Pretty spectacular
    Terry
  • Great treatment of debris. Really adds to the realism.
  • yes you did. is that 'gravel' crushed limestone?
  • Thanks guys.

Kevin, it could be crushed limestone. It is some HO ballast I picked up from Arizona Mineral and Ballast. Nice stuff. I mixed it in with some dirt to ballast my layout.
  • one of my landscapers had to redo a walking path around a pretty large pond on a property that i manage (an HOA), and it was about 1.75 miles (and approx. $20k). they did the whole thing in crushed limestone, so now i know where to go to pirate some scenery materials.....
i wonder why i never though of using that for scale gravel. i've thought about smashing woodland scenics n scale ballast with a 2lb maul, but it never occured to me to use crushed limestone. DING
  • bryan, i was remiss in not telling you how absolutely incredible the whole diorama is. beautiful work.
  • Nice touch on the dead leaves/foliage...love the work on that wood barrel on the last pick...perfection!..see we notice that subtile stuff...Ken
  • yeah that barrel is fantastic.
  • Thanks guys.

This build is moving into the final stages. The scene has been populated. I'll add some finishing touches here and there then prepare it for power and the case.

The guy in the last pic failed to beware of dog.

  • Almost forgot...here is one of the (3) dogs to beware of. All are equally menacing.

  • That is one fine piece of modeling!!!!!

  • Hall of Fame Bryan. Just outstanding! Would love some Hi-Res pics once your finished.
  • Outstanding work. Details look so natural.
  • i'll ask the million dollar question...
where do you find your lp's, and do you perform any surgery on them to get them into the poses? are they resin or pewter?
they always look so appropriate on your builds, almost as if they were specially made for you.
  • This is just a great project Bryan. Fantastic job.
  • Thanks much Terry Tom Brett Kevin and Steve.

Brett, I will send some once I finish up.

Kevin, the figures in this dio come from MK35, Czech Master, and the dogs came from Mantis. They are all resin. Funny you would say they are specially made. When I saw the "Beware of Dog" sign on the first post that Brett did on this kit it reminded me of the guy scraping dog poo off of his shoe. That made me chuckle and I knew I had to incorporate that scene. Were they made for me? I just periodically look around for interesting figures and think about how I can make them work into a scene that I would like to create.

I have many figures laying around now that I am dying to put into a scene. For example: there is an old dude sitting back in a chair. I thought he would look good in front of the gas pump here waiting on the next customer. He didn't make the cut, but I will find a place for him in another build and it will probably be underneath the umbrella that came with the Toppins truck.
  • Excellent diorama Bryan. So much is happening on such a little surface. Great work.
  • Thanks Robert.
  • Well done!...Love the weathering and rust on the metal barrels and the gray cabinet...scene comp. is perfect...
  • bryan,
thanks for the info. i get emails from them all the time, but always felt their figures were too "european" looking. i'll obviously have to reconsider.
  • tell me that you see this look in the states....

i don't have anything against europeans, my grandparents were europeans. but even my grandparents dressed in "american" clothes.
    ya know what? never mind.
