Local Narrow Gauge Train Shows and Meets.

Had a great conversation with Brett this morning, and one of the topics was train shows and meets. In particular...narrow gauge oriented ones. We all go to a lot of the bigger train shows in our own areas as we can always seem to find something for our modeling efforts such as paints and scenery products. But I know as an On30 modeler...the average train show is not the place to always find stuff in my scale or gauge.
So...we came up with the idea of a thread on narrow minded show and meets. So...if you have a show in your own area, please feel free to list it here. Please list the following info:

A. The Name of the show
B. The scale that the show centers around (if its narrow gauge all inclusive just state that...if its On30 only....post that)
C. The location of the show
D. The dates of the show.

Please do not post any links. just the above info....a quick search of the Interweb will direct you to a website. Links are not always correct.

By doing this...we can help each other find a show or meet nearby that we might not have known about before.

  • So I will start this off....

The Micro Madness Meet.....being held in Ranson WV (near Harpers Ferry) on January 17th from 9am to 3pm. The location is the First Baptist Church at 614 Lone Oak Road in Ranson. This is a meet that focuses on On30, On18, Hon3 Gn15 and other small scales. There will be dozens of micro layouts on display and running, along with a small handful of vendors. There is a flyer and contact info on the Micro Madness Group page on Face book. This is a great get together of "narrow minded" modelers.
  • The Mid-Hudson On30 Meet. The meet is held in Gardiner NY at the St. Charles Borromeo Church on Rt. 44 in Gardiner. It is held twice a year...in October and in April. The April dates are the 24th and 25th...8 to 5 on Friday, and 8 to 2 on Saturday. This Meet is mainly members of the Black Sheep, but any modeler interested in the Narrow O scales are always welcome. We normally have a module layout or 2 set up....have many vendors and private sellers...and we hold informal clinics both days. Check out the Mid-Hudson Facebook page for more contact info...or you can contact me via email. This is a great get together also.
  • The Harrisburg Narrow O Show. The meet is in Harrisburg Pa. held at the New Hope Church at 584 Colonial Club Road in Harrisburg. It will be held on June 12th and 13th...11 to 6 on Friday...9-3 on Saturday. This is an all Narrow O show only....including On3, On30 and On18 scales. It is also of interest to any O gauge modeler. This is the show developed and founded by the late Al Judy, and is continued on by his staff in his name. the show has pretty much become THE Narrow O scales meet on the East Coast, attended by modelers from as far away as Australia and England, Texas and California too. There are usually 50 to 60 vendors and private sellers, 12 to 15 layouts including an EBT group, and Connecticut. Clinic are held each day by nationally know modelers...and there is a model contest. The show is also known to have the best show food anywhere, with a picnic on Friday night. Go to the Harrisburg Narrow O Summer Meet page of Facebook for full info and contact info....or you can contact me....
  • There also is a Mid-West Narrow Gauge meet going on in March in Salem Ohio....I'll get the particulars and post them here soon
  • So here you go. List your local meets here so we can all enjoy a good meet. Please post no links.
  • Thanks for this Art. Will try to make the one in Gardiner. Perhaps the one in Harrisburg too-- nothing for me to buy if it's all O-Scale but would still able to get some free inspiration. I am in Warwick, NY in Orange County.
  • Travis…hmmm, Orange County…isn’t that where the motorcycle builder reality show originated from?
  • OCC is out of business.....

Yes, other end of the county from me. My dad took my brothers and me to visit their "shop" (which was basically a big store with overpriced merch) when we were kids and they were not friendly fellas. Seemed the fame went straight to their heads. They packed up maybe 5 years ago and just the huge empty building is left.
