HOn3 vs HO Backwoods Log Train

Hello everyone. I have a pretty basic question for all you Narrow Gauge builders out there, after trying unsuccessfully to find the answer in these forums and elsewhere. I'm pretty confused about Brett's Backwoods Log Train kit. It quite clearly states that it's HO scale. Yet I've seen listing on auction sites and others showing "another version" of his kit that is quite clearly marked HOn3 or HOn30.
Are there ANY differences between the two? As narrow gauge owners would know, there SHOULD be a noticeable size difference between cars of these two gauges (HOn3 vs HO) but I've never seen a site description confirming this - or whether or not it is the same EXACT kit with the same exact sizes of cars inside to build.
Appreciate if anyone can confirm this.

    Gavin…I don’t have the answer to your question but have wondered the same thing. I have both the HO Work Train as well as the HOn3 Log Train.
    My HOn3 Log Train is in the original sealed box from 20 (?) years ago . Since my plan is to sell the kit I’m hesitant to open it to compare the car frame(s).

    While the car roster is very similar in appearance, the HOn3 version is smaller as is appropriate for narrow gauge. The HO Standard gauge may be fitted with HOn3 trucks but the HOn3 version is not compatible with HO Standard gauge trucks.
