Sand and Water Cars

A small detour from my work on my foundry. I found this old SierraWest kit on Ebay and although it's missing a few parts it had the 2 major castings and ,most of the small bits. I've always loved these cars and am excited to try my hand at building these beauties.

  • Here is the first ;layer of paint and chalk. I had to make the tubes from some brass and plastic I had lying around and tried to match the original casting by eye.2

  • I learned the rust effect from one of Brett's kits. Apparently people didn't like it but I love it. I use water mixable oil paint and chalk. If anyone wants a quick tutorial....
